RIGHTS OF PASSAGE Sunday I got a phone call from a lady called Julie asking if I could come in to take the place of the girl who played Grace before me because she had dropped out of the movie. So at twelve o’clock I was picked up by Julie and driven out to Goornong were that scene of the movie was being filmed there was another lady in the car her name was Ellen she had an awesome American accent. When we got to the set I met the cast, crew and director who’s name was Stefan Markworth and was given a script to go over so I could read a bit about my character. As I waited for my scene to be shot I saw how much talent everyone had with the scenes they were doing .After waiting for a while I was told to get into my position for my scene the first scene I shot was called rock grooves we did this scene so many times from all different angles. Friday Today we filmed out at eagle hawk secondary college for our school scene I had to wear school clothes so I looked like one of the students I felt so young again we went into a tiny classroom and met the other actors that were helping out for the day they were a bit loud and didn’t want to listen but the day was fun we filmed all day for just one scene it took so long. Saturday Today we filmed the scene called scar trees it was so fun it was a hard day because the weather was horrible it was raining and the wind was so loud and strong but we managed to do it. We then went back to our supervisor’s house and we edited some of the scenes we had done. Sunday Today we filmed the scene called glove gun it was actually a really fun scene to do we made a glove gun and got to use it in the film the weather was really bad today as well but we just had to wait out the rain and then continue filming again then we went back to our supervisors house and met with elders who we were going to film with for our last scene they were so nice and congratulated us on our good work. Monday We edited the movie today at a place called bdac which is the Bendigo and district aboriginal co-operative we got to do special effects on some of the scenes and they ended up looking great We also met with an aboriginal elder who’s name was Brenda she told us about the smoking ceremony her people have and how what we sing has a message in it. Saturday Today we filmed the scene called grace fight I was the main actor in this scene which was fun. I had to have a fight with the man who plays my dad he’s name was Ian Stewart a teacher from flora hill. The scene was fun I had to yell and slam doors which was the best fun. Ian was a really great actor and we bounced our ideas off each other about how to make the scene more believable. Sunday Today the weather was a bit colder than the previous day but we worked through it we filmed a scene called the elders we had elders from all different countries around the world there was 2 aboriginal elders 2 polish elders some from England and one man I think was from India. We all talked to the elders all day and they told us so many storeys and gave us advice about how to live in harmony and made us realise how lucky we are to have what we have now and that we should never take it for granted. The Elders then left and thanked us younger people. Monday Today we edited again we also decided to make a movie about the “making of” the movie one of the main actors called Shaun and I were the only ones there with our director so we started putting our ideas together we decided to have interviews with the actors. Monday We had a meeting with real to real the youth group who makes there own songs in Bendigo but I couldn’t go because I had missed so much school already. The meeting was to discuss our soundtrack for the movie and how us younger people from the project were going to help make it.
